One Hundred Years ago, the owners of the
Fort Lupton Canning Factory threw a
party for the town, including a whole
roasted steer barbeque, shoe tosses, a
dance, tomato fights, and a parade. The
canning factory is but a fond memory,
but the celebrations have continued for
one hundred years, and in 2008, we are
going back to our past. We can't
promise tomato fights, though we will if
insurance allows them, but we will
continue the fun. Traditionally held
the first weekend of September, Trapper
Days features a pancake breakfast, a
rendezvous along the South Platte
River, games, booths, crafts, auto and
motorcycle shows, entertainment, and of
course, the Trapper Days Parade. Entry
to the parade is free, but we ask that
each reflects the weekend's theme.
Please call for an entry form.
The weekend begins on the preceding
Thursday with the Trapper Days Kelly
Martinez Cancer Fund golf tournament,
sponsored by the Fort Lupton Chamber of
Commerce, at Coyote Creek Golf Course.
